Two restaurants

Eating at Casino of the Rockies

The resort outside Cranbrook has two restaurants, one inside the casino and one in the Mission building, and they keep different hours. The tool below shows which one is serving at a chosen meal and hour.

Inside the casino

Kiʔsuʔk k̓ikiⱡ, inside the casino

Kiʔsuʔk k̓ikiⱡ is Ktunaxa for "good food". The full-service restaurant and bar sits on a dining area raised above the gaming floor. Its menu runs from small plates and appetizers to sandwiches, salads and entrees. A full bar mixes craft cocktails.

The bar and the kitchen keep separate hours. Sunday through Thursday, the bar serves between 11 am and 10:30 pm. Weekend nights run longer: on Friday and Saturday the bar pours from 11 am until 12:30 am, and the kitchen cooks from 11 am to 11 pm. Kitchen service on the other days, Sunday through Thursday, also begins at 11 am, and a call to 250-417-2772 is wise before counting on a table after 10 pm. For holiday hours, the Kootenay Valley desk points readers to casinooftherockies.ca.

Diners at Kiʔsuʔk k̓ikiⱡ come in through the casino entrance, so the age rule of 19 or older applies to them too, and each one presents government-issued photo ID there.

    Mission building

    Numa, in the Mission building

Numa Lounge & Dining borrows its name from the Ktunaxa word for "thunder". This resort restaurant sits in the Mission building rather than the casino, and looks toward Fisher Peak and the golf course. The building was once the St. Eugene Mission, a residential school for First Nations children of the region, since reclaimed by the Ktunaxa Nation.

Breakfast is served every day from 7 am to 11 am. From Wednesday to Sunday the lounge opens at 4 pm and closes at 11 pm, with dinner served from 5 pm to 9:30 pm. On Monday and Tuesday evenings, dinner at the resort means Kiʔsuʔk k̓ikiⱡ in the casino.

The PROLINE Sportsbook Lounge sits inside Kiʔsuʔk k̓ikiⱡ. An 18-foot screen shows up to six games at once, and bets are placed at three PROLINE betting terminals. The casino calls it the first lounge of its kind in the region. Live music and shows are held in the same restaurant, with the monthly calendar on casinooftherockies.ca. Encore Rewards members get 10% off dining there, and membership is arranged at Guest Services at no cost.
